At Elizabeth Stamos Design, we believe the process is equally as important as the outcome. We take great pride in being process oriented, so nothing gets overlooked or forgotten. Here is a quick look at how we work, from the initial consultation to the final installation.
We meet in person or video chat, to make sure we are a good fit style and personality wise. We are both committing to, on average, at least a year of working together. We give you a glimpse of our process, the documentation and what it looks like to work with us. We walk through the space in person (if possible) or review plans, images or initial ideas.
After we meet we will provide a detailed estimate for the cost to hire ESD to run your design project . This includes our time spent as well as an estimated budget based on your scope of work. If all sounds good, we sign on the dotted line!
We view design holistically and developing the overall feel and aesthetic of your house informs all the design decisions we make. We have a detailed questionnaire designed to get inside your head, with the goal of honing in on your style and how you want your home to look and function.
We begin by measuring your space and planning it out. Everything gets converted into AutoCAD and we typically meet with builders and architects to talk through all of the details and start game planning together. We then create imagery boards for your home based on our interpretation of your wants and needs. We want to have a clear idea of the direction, budget goals, and plans before we enter into the selection phase of the design process.
We get down to the nitty gritty and start making actual selections. We often start with the foundation, selecting architectural materials and coordinating with millwork plans and finishes. In addition to furnishing selections, we design custom furniture, drapery and all of the details that make your home unique. We are constantly corresponding with our vendors to get accurate pricing, lead time on products and to ensure every detail is thought through. It all gets plugged back into our budget to ensure we are on track.
We provide detailed construction drawings, schedules, and site binders to ensure that all documentation is clear for when your contractor is ready to build. We ensure everything is properly scaled to your room sizes. When we meet with you there will always be lots of materials to thumb through to help you visualize our designs. We present multiple options and continuously tweak the budget with the selections that have been made until we come to our final choices.
Each piece purchased through ESD has its own proposal with everything itemized out including tax and shipping. We triple check all orders to ensure accuracy before we send it along to you for review.
By now we have been in constant contact with our vendors requesting all fabric cutting for approvals, rug strike offs, and any other pertinent information we need prior to ordering. We convert your proposals into orders, and continue to follow up with vendors until every pieces reaches our receiving warehouse or jobsite.
The majority of furniture purchased through ESD will ship to our local receiving warehouse. They open, inspect and check all items for good condition. If there are any issues, we take care of them at this juncture. All items are stored in a climate controlled space while the rest of your pieces arrive.
Once everything arrives, we schedule the delivery and installation! After furniture is installed, we come in with art and accessories and style everything so it’s just so. This final layer is crucial to the overall look of your home. It adds that lived in, completed look that you see in our photos.
We'd love to hear about your vision and needs. Schedule a consultation today to learn more about Elizabeth Stamos Design and how we can help turn your ideas into reality.
